Pastor Stephen Haverlah became pastor of Prairie Wind Parish in July, 2008.  He was ordained a Lutheran minister in the ELCA on June 15th, 2008.  Stephen graduated with a Master’s of Divinity degree from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN in May, 2008.  He met and married his wife, Annie, while at seminary in 2005.  He served as an intern pastor in Colorado Springs, CO in 2007-2008.  Annie and Stephen have one child, Andrew, who was born in April, 2009.

After graduating with a B.S. from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1996, Stephen spent eight years as a Naval Flight Officer.  He flew as a navigator and mission commander with an E-6 squadron in Oklahoma City and later served as a navigator instructor in San Antonio flying the T-43.  Feeling called to the ministry, Stephen entered seminary after resigning as a lieutenant in the Navy in 2004.

Pastor Haverlah was born in Caldwell, TX, and grew up in various cities in Texas but calls Round Rock, TX home as that is where his parents reside and where he attended high school.  His father is a retired ELCA pastor and his mother taught piano for many years.  Pastor Haverlah currently serves as pastor of both Faith Lutheran in Junction City, KS and Trinity Lutheran in Abilene, KS.
